Power outages go unabated in country
Updated at: 1612 PST,  Thursday, July 30, 2009
Power outages go unabated in country LAHORE: The power crisis is still in full show in the country on Thursday, as Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) continued 10 to 14 hours of load shedding to meet the shortfall of 3000 Megawatts.

Pepco officials are mum on the topic, as they say they have been forbidden by the Federal Minister for Water and Power to talk on load shedding.

The citizens across Punjab including Lahorites are facing great hardships on this count. The air-conditioners are in less use as the weather condition improved, which brought the demand down by 1000 Megawatt.

But, the decreased production from thermal power houses could not help narrow the duration of power load shedding, especially, the condition is far worse in Lahore that is passing every hour through power outages.
