 KARACHI: Enhancement in custom duty on the import of fans will further help boost the local manufacturing.
Fan Manufacturing Association’s chairman, Haji Muhammad Ilyas told Geo News that the government in the current fiscal year budget has raised the custom duty on import of fans from 24 percent to 34 percent facilitating the local manufacturers. He said that at least 300 local companies in the country presently were engaged in manufacturing or assembling of fans, while the annual total production of the home made fans stood in the range of 4 to 5 million and its exports as compared previous year climbing up by 67 percent reached up to $50 million.
