KARACHI: Exporters of rice are facing hardship due to delay in the commodity’s clearance by the customs officials.
Sources of Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan told Geo News that the duration of rice clearance has increased to 48 hours from 12 after introduction of electronic clearance system. Now Rs8,000 are also being charged per container, sources added.
This is creating difficulties for the country’s exporters who export rice to different parts of the world.
