Administrators to replace nazims from August: PM
Updated at: 1708 PST,  Wednesday, July 08, 2009
Administrators to replace nazims from August: PM ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Wednesday said the year 2010 will be observed as a Literacy Year, as most of problems emanate from illiteracy.

Addressing the media here after a meeting of Inter-Provincial coordination Committee, he said the conditions are not conducive right now for the local bodies elections, adding as soon as the situation improves, the local bodies election will be held.

He said administrators will be appointed in lieu of nazims as the term of local bodies is going to be over in August, adding these administrators will have nothing to do with politics.

He maintained that these administrators will not be appointed on political ground; instead, they will be government officers to be appointed for one-year term.

The recommendations will be solicited from all provinces on National Education Policy, he said adding Police Order 2002 will amended.

Decision regarding census will be made by the end of this year, he said.
