Network of terrorists dismantled in Malakand: Iftekhar PESHAWAR: The Pukhtoonkhwa Minister for Information, Transport and IPC Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that due to clear cut stand of the provincial government, network of the terrorists and militants have been dismantled in the Malakand Division and now they were on run.

This he said while talking to senior politician and renowned Pashto poet and writer, Mohammad Ajmal Khattak while inquiring into his health at Akora Khattak District Nowshera on Monday.

District President of ANP Ahraar Khattak and General Secretary Zair Ali were also with him during his visit. He prayed for the early recovery of Ajmal Khattak.

Talking on the occasion, Ajmal Khattak said that steps taken by the government for eradication of terrorism and militancy were commendable and he was fully satisfied with the performance of the ANP led government.

He continued that war against terror and militancy was basically a war of integrity and solidarity of the whole humanity, country and the nation, therefore the government should not go back from its stance and continue its war till full elimination of the terror and militancy from the province.

It may be recalled that Ajmal Khattak is a writer of various poems and books. He besides remaining central President of ANP also remained MNA and Senator. He is amongst the founder members of the Khudai Khidmatgar Tehrik and he remained an active member of the said Tehrik side by side Khan Bacha Khan.

He did a lot for the rights and guidance of pukhtoons. Information Minister on this occasion, while commenting on the Malakand situation said that with the best strategy of the provincial government, we succeeded in bringing peace in the Malakand Division particularly in District Swat hoping that the situation would become normal very soon.

He added that life in Swat come to normalcy and Prime Minister, Governor, Chief Ministers and Provincial Ministers visited Swat and met the people there.

He further said that the provincial government also decided to celebrate the Independence Day at Swat with the sole aim to restore the confidence of the people of the area and give message to the world that there was peace in Swat and in future there was no place for terrorists and militants in the Pukhtoonkhwa.

Commenting on the personality of Ajmal Khattak, Mian Iftikhar said his life and writings were a great asset for the whole Pukhtoon nation and he was a cradle for us, therefore we must take benefit of it.
