Textile policy to be announced tomorrow ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Textile Industry, Rana Muhammad Farooq Saeed Khan will announce new textile policy on August 12 (Tuesday).

The minister will announce the Textile policy on Radio/TV in the afternoon, Secretary Textile Industry, Dr. Waqar Masood said here today.

Dr. Masood said that the new textile policy focusing on the resolution of problems being faced by the sector would be announced tomorrow.

"The government has announced Rs.40 billion Export Support Development Fund for the textile sector as an incentive to promote textile industry for the benefit of the country," he added.

He said that the textile being one of the most export led sector and government is making every efforts to boost the sector for the socio economic prosperity.

"We want to give special focus on the sector in the new textile policy 2009-10 to promote the sector for the socio economic prosperity of the country", he remarked.

He expressed the hope that the fund being established for the sector would help boost the textile industry in the country.

"We want to resolve the problems of the sector to further develop it", he remarked.

He said that government is giving top most priority to the development of the textile industry in order to boost its exports for the benefit of the country.
