Crackdown for recovery of sugar kicks off FAISALABAD: Crackdown against sugar stockers for the recovery of sugar has kicked off across Punjab province while as many as 4360 sugar sacks have been seized and 6 responsible suspects have been arrested from Jiranwala locality, police sources said on Friday.

Another crackdown against sugar stockers has been launched here in Faisalabad following the directives of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, sources said.

At least 2400 sugar sacks from a depot of a factory and another 1000 sugar sacks from a stockroom in a village have been recovered from different Jiranwala areas alone on Friday, police said meanwhile, a factory owner has been arrested.

DDOR Rana Khalid said over 4000 sugar sacks have so far been recovered from the storerooms of various factories while six responsible stockers have been apprehended.
