 KARACHI: An exhibition match has been played here in connections with the celebrations of Independence Day in which not only national crickets but politicians also took part in the action.
Younis Khan’s Pakistan XI defeated Dr. Ishratul Ibad’s Governor and Chief Minister XI by nine wickets. Salman Butt, Rao Iftikar and Saeed Ajmal shine with bat.
City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal and Governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad said the match has been organized to pay tributes to national team and reflect positive image of Pakistan worldwide.
The match turned out to be a great entertainment for spectators, cricketers and politicians. Government of Sindh gave cash prize of Rs. 0.2 million to winner squad of Twenty20 World Cup.
