MUMBAI: From Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gracing the screens of the hottest Bollywood films to Angelina Jolie delivering Hollywood blockbuster time after time, beautiful actresses are sure to shine on the silver screen.
Actresses like Ash and Priyanka Chopra started their careers by competing in beauty pageants like Miss World and Miss India, paving the way for new actresses every day. And now it's time for a Miss England contestant to try her luck at acting!
Tamil movie director, A.L. Vijay scanned the Miss England Web site looking for a fresh face to play the lead role in his latest project, Madrasapattinam.
He spotted 18 year old Amy Jackson, a gorgeous beauty pageant who is also a former Miss Teen World. Amy told British tabloid The Sun, "beauty pageants are big over in India so the director saw me on the competition Web site. He liked that I was white but had an Indian look so he tracked me down."
And just like that, with no acting experience whatsoever, Vijay cast the brunnette babe as the heroine in his latest film, portraying the role of Amy Wilkinson. The model turned actress says she's very excited for her new career. "I've been reading through some Bollywood scripts and I'll definitely do another film." | | | | |
