NASEERABAD: Four canals including Pat Feeder Canal have been gagged in a bid to take out the water from Jafferabad areas of Dera Allah Yar and Rojhan Jamali, Geo News reported Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference here, Incharge Flood Area Naseerabad, Jafferabad Lt. Gen. Khalid Hussain said Pat Feeder Canal among four other canals has been plugged to drain out the water from Jafferabad areas of Dera Allah Yar and Rojhan Jamali.
He said the floodwater poses no threat to Osta Muhammed and Jhal Magsi, adding the rescue work has been spurred, as the affectees are being transported to Sibi and Quetta by train.
Khalid said at least two C130 planes are arriving in Sibbi with potable water and food to meet the shortage of drinking water and food.
It should be mentioned here that the flood badly devastated four tehsils of Suhbatpur, Osta Muhammed, Jhat Pat and Gandakha with acute scarcity of drinking water and food and people are still waiting for help at several places. |  | | | |
