More than thousands of people are still stranded in Garhai Kheru District where government officials have disappeared from instead of making efforts to rescue them.
Meanwhile, flood torrents are raging rapidly towards Sujawal Khan and Meru Khan tehils.
The Executive Engineer Irrigation Department, Munawwar Bardaz, was of the view that it may take floodtides, marching towards Sujawal and Meru Khan tehsils, approximately 10 hours to hit both the tehsils.
But officials from Irrigation and District Authority are making efforts to turn floodtides directions towards Qabu Saeed Khan tehsil, he said.
Munawwar said that in view of anticipated flood torrents that are on the way to hit Shahdadkot District, a recently constructed bund outside city is being strengthened.
District Authority in Shahdadkot has ordered evacuation of over 100 villages for fear of floods’ devastations. | | | | |
