40 killed in Jamrud mosque bombing JAMRUD: At least 40 people have been killed as a result of a bombing at a mosque located in Ghandi area of Jamrud tehsil in the Khyber Agency, Geo News reported. 70 others were injured in the bombing which took place after Friday prayers.

Over 250 people were leaving the mosque after offering their Friday prayers when the bomb exploded. The intensity of the blast was so severe that the roof and walls of the mosque collapsed and according to eyewitnesses this was a suicide attack. Following the blast security forces surrounded the area.

Rescue efforts were started after the blast and the injured were shifted to the Lady Reading hospital and the Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar. Several of those injured are believed to be in critical condition.
