Islamabad police requested to register treason case against Musharraf
Updated at: 1211 PST,  Sunday, August 02, 2009
Islamabad police requested to register treason case against Musharraf ISLAMABAD: A Rawalpindi lawyer has given request to Islamabad police for registering case of treason against former president Pervez Musharraf on the basis of the recent decision by the Supreme Court against emergency of November 3.

This request against General retired Pervez Musharraf was lodged by lawyer Khurram Manzoor at Thana Secretariat.

The stance adopted in the request was that the 14-member bench of the Supreme Court declared all actions of November 3, taken by the then president and army chief General Pervez Musharraf, as extra-judicial and unconstitutional and on this basis, a case of non-compliance of the constitution be registered against the former president.

According to the staff present in the police station, further legal action on this request will be taken only on the directives of senior police officers.
