DUBAI: President of International Cricket Council (ICC), David Morgan has said that Twenty20 cricket might be included in Olympics, adding everyone will have to work jointly to make it in 2020 Olympics.
Different proposals have been given to include the T20 cricket in Olympics. Former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist began this campaign by issuing a statement that administrators should press for the inclusion of Twenty20 cricket in the Olympics from 2020.
He said time has come for the Gentleman's game to be a permanent part, especially with the advent of Twenty20. Many players supported the Gilchrist’s idea of including T20 in Olympics.
On the other hand, ICC President Morgan visited Beijing to assess the situation and discussed the issue with the concerned officials. Morgan said that International Olympic Committee has supported the inclusion of T20 in Olympics. T20 is the best format for the Olympics, it said. | |
