Man Utd stunned by Burnley in English Premier League LONDON: Defending champion Manchester United was stunned by Burnley 1-0 in their first English Premier League meeting in 33 years on Wednesday.

Robbie Blake scored for newly promoted Burnley in the 19th minute to clinch the club's first victory over United since September 1968.

Burnley goalkeeper Brian Jensen made a flying save to keep out Michael Carrick's penalty kick.

Liverpool bounced back from its loss at Tottenham on the opening weekend of the Premier League by routing Stoke 4-0 whereas Tottenham maintained its strong start by thrashing Hull 5-1.

Birmingham, which lost to Man United on Sunday, claimed its first points of the campaign with a 1-0 victory over Portsmouth while Tottenham defeated Hull City by 5-1.
