 Bilour retracts words over judges
Updated at: 1730 PST,  Saturday, August 22, 2009
Bilour retracts words over judges PESHAWAR: Senior NWFP Minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour backtracked his statement proposing to judges to quit offices to join political arena, Geo News reported Saturday.

Addressing the media at Peshawar Press Club, he said he gave the statement, as he was carried away by the sentiments.

He said his party always worked for the independent judiciary and he even went to jail for the cause, adding he respects the judiciary; but, he is sorry that he said the words for judges of higher judiciary out of emotions.

On a query, he said measures are being taken up for the availability of the edibles during the holy month of Ramzan.

The NWFP province was the worst hit in the war against terrorism; therefore, it should get the maximum share in NFC Award so that the poverty and backwardness of the province could be done away with.
