KARACHI: The government of Sindh has declared 17 districts worst affected by floods as calamity hit zone, Geo News reported.
A notification carrying this announcement was issued from office of Relief Commission of Sindh on late Saturday.
The notification stated that the worst ever floods in the history of Pakistan coupled with the torrential monsoon rains have wreaked havoc with safety bunds and canal systems across Sindh, washing away standing crops worth billions of rupees stretched on thousands of acres of farmland, wiping out hundreds of houses, and many a innocent village people lost their lives.
Those districts placed on calamity hit list included Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, Nowshero Feroz, Shaheed Benazir Abad, Kunbhar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Shikarpur, Kashmor, Dadu, Jamshoro, Matyari, Tando Mohammed Khan, Hyderabad, Thatta and Badin. |  | | | |
