GILGIT: Food crisis has eased out after 32 days in Gilgit while work on flood water draining has begun in Nowshera.
Petroleum is now available in Gilgit and surrounding areas and gas cylinders and essential food items are also available. Reconstruction work has started in flood-devastated area and in Swat and Shangla while army is busy building temporary bridges.
Food items are being delivered by helicopters in upper Swat areas of Madyan, Kalam and Bahrain while repair work on link roads has not yet begun. Work to drain flood water out has begun in Nowshera and Kalam while numerous diseases are spreading due to stagnating flood water in Dera Ismail Khan. |  | | | |
