 MUMBAI: This Thursday will mark Kajol’s birthday and while there will be a big bash to bring in her special day, the family has also decided they will celebrate her godh bharai too.
In true Maharashtrian style, the family will observe the necessary ceremonies as well as her birthday. This will be followed by a family lunch for the Mukherjees and Devgns together.
"Mom has planned a puja and will gift her a sari as is the custom. She will also be preparing food for Kads that is part of the ritual. We will follow all the customs attached to the dhole ceremony. All of us will be attired in traditional wear," exclaimed Tannisha Mukherjee, Kajol’s sister.
As for presents, Tannisha has already picked up a fancy gift for her sister during a recent trip to Greece for a friend’s wedding.
"I picked up this funky necklace with lava rocks for her," she divulged. But the younger sister is also planning a sweet treat for her older sister as well.
"I plan to bake a huge fruit cake for Kads."
