| GEO Business | | European stocks fall at open | Updated at: 1324 PST, Friday, August 07, 2009 LONDON: Europe's main stock markets fell at the start of trading on Friday as investors geared up for key US jobs data and after Royal Bank of Scotland posted poor first-half results.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of leading shares dropped 0.13 percent to stand at 4,684.55 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 dipped 0.06 percent to 5,366.38 points and in Paris the CAC 40 shed 0.29 percent to 3,467.72.
Tokyo's benchmark Nikkei-225 index closed up 0.23 percent to 10,412.09 points on Friday.The Dow Jones Industrial Average of blue chips fell 0.27 percent to finish at 9,256.26 points.
