Disbursement of Rs 20,000 to flood victims has started: PM ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday joined the countrymen in offering Eid prayers and to seek Allah's blessings to help cope with the challenges the country was facing.

In a brief chat with media Gilani urged the nation to share the festivity with the flood affected. He said the disbursement of initial amount of Rs 20,000 had started and would complete soon.

PM Gilani offered Eid prayers here at the Faisal Mosque and prayed to Almighty Allah for peace, prosperity, happiness for the people of Pakistan and the entire Muslim Ummah.

Gilani said it was his hope that there was Eid acrross the country on same day.

Prime Minister Gilani who had cancelled all Eid celebrations in view of the worst ever flooding that the country ever experienced would be spending the day with the flood affected people.

He is scheduled to visit relief camps in many parts of the country to share the joys with the flood victims.

The annual Eid reception at the PM House was cancelled and the entire government machinery directed to spend the day with the millions of flood victims who are seeking refuge in relief camps after their houses were destroyed due to the inundation.
