President orders judicial probe in Karachi stampede ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday expressed his shock and grief over the loss of precious lives in a stampede in Karachi and ordered a judicial probe into the sad incident.

The President issued directives to the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah for a judicial enquiry into the tragic incident by a High Court judge that should submit its report within a week to fix responsibility.

The President took a serious note of the poor arrangements to manage huge crowds and said the local authorities should have undertaken measures to ensure that the distribution was smooth and safe.

The President expressed his deep grief over the killing of women who were killed in the stampede at a free distribution point at Khori garden in Karachi.
