 KARACHI: At least two police personnel and an accused died while another policemen was injured amid Karachi Investigation Police-criminals encounter, which took place in Landhi locality on early Wednesday, Geo News reported.
The killed criminal was wanted in many crimes of heinous nature, police sources said.
SSP Investigation East Zone Farooq Awan told Geo News that the shootout started as investigation police raided a house for arresting an accused wanted in murder case in response to an intelligence report, when hiding criminals opened fire at policemen.
Consequently, police retaliated in befitting manner, killing an accused Tariq on the spot meanwhile two constables Ajab Khan and Faiz Rasool received fatal injures and another constable Faiz Ahmed Niazi suffered minor wounds.
Police claimed recovery of illegal weaponry from possession of killed culprit.
Dead bodies and injured constable have been shifted to hospital for autopsy, police said. |  | |
