''When either Democrat Barack Obama or Republican John McCain takes office in January, he will face an increasingly vicious battle against insurgents in Afghanistan.
Karzai also told an audience Tuesday at the Asia Society that the inauguration of Pakistan's new democratic government holds out hope that the region will move “beyond the days where one or the other of us made extremism or radicalism'' a matter of policy.
Afghanistan and Pakistan have long squabbled over who is responsible for the extremists who have made their shared border abase. | |
