ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture, Nazar Muhammad Gondal, said Wednesday there was no flour crisis in the country and termed it as mismanagement at provincial level.
In an exclusive interview with senior journalist Siknadar Lodhi, the federal minister said country was facing no shortage of wheat, adding private sector had enough wheat stock.
Gondal said government had paid no attention to agriculture sector during the last ten years. Gondal said former premier Shaukat Aziz was a technocrat with no understanding of agriculture.
The federal minister added there was shortage of one million ton for which government decided to import 2.5million tons of wheat. Two wheat-laden ships have already arrived at the port and the process would complete by December this year, he said. | |
