KARACHI: Only 24,77,000 shares were traded at the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) on Thursday while trade volume reached the lowest level in the last 11 years.
The market began today on a negative note and this trend continued throughout the day.
The KSE 100-index, while shedding 7 points, closed at 9,184 points and trade volume stood at 24,77,000 shares which was the lowest since 1997.
Today, the highest trading was seen in the shares of Engro Chemicals as the price of its share remained unchanged at Rs180.44.
Meanwhile, analysts say that if the index is defreezed after Eid-ul-Fitr then the market may come down even from the level of 9000 points. |  |
