 Ramazan subsidy at utility stores withdrawn

Ramazan subsidy at utility stores withdrawn ISLAMABAD: The subsidy given under the Ramazan relief package at the utility stores ended today, however, sugar subsidy would continue.

Utility Stores Corporation (USC) officials here told that the subsidies under Ramazan relief package were given on nine items including pulses, flour, dates and other items have been withdrawn from today, while the subsidies allowed by different companies on over 400 hundred items have also ended, as a result thereon all the consumer items would be made available to the people on regular rates.

However, the officials told that sugar subsidy would continue as usual and it would be made available at all the utility stores across the country at Rs38 per kilo. Utility stores in the country would remain closed today for quarterly audit and no sale would take place. Officials told that normally quarterly audit takes place on September 15, but his was delayed due to Ramazan.
