Peshawar blast reaction of Malakand operation: Iftikhar
Updated at: 1717 PST,  Saturday, September 26, 2009
Peshawar blast reaction of Malakand operation: Iftikhar PESHAWAR: NWFP Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain Saturday said the blast in Peshawar might be the backlash of anti-terror operation in Malakand Division.

Talking to media during the visit at the blast site in Peshawar’s Saddar area, the world will have to concertedly help Pakistan to break the network of terrorists.

The blast site is extremely sensitive area, as it was twice targeted by the terrorists, which indicates that terrorists have safe passage to trace their steps into the area.

The Mian Iftikhar Hussain said the security arrangements would have to be made more stringent in this regard, and if any lapse is found in the security, then action would be taken against personnel responsible for the negligence.

The minister said terrorists are not the product in just one area; instead, the whole world is facing the menace.

But, Pakistan especially the NWFP province has vital place in this connection as the frontline state; accordingly, the blood of the people here is being spilled, he said.

The minister maintained, ‘We are fighting a war for the existence of Pakistan and the world; the network of the terrorists has been broken to a large extent and extremists in large number have been arrested.’
