Gilani says, anti-democratic forces behind attack on his motorcade
Updated at: 0131 PST,  Friday, September 05, 2008
Gilani says, anti-democratic forces behind attack on his motorcade MULTAN: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Thursday that anti-democratic forces, who do not want to see the country prosperous and democracy flourish, were behind the attack on his motorcade.

Talking to newsmen after inaugurating the Rs. 846 million Shershah Bridge located some 25 kilometres away, he said that the damaged glass windows of the car were being sent to a foreign country for analysis as part of the ongoing probe into the attack.

He added that these were being sent to a foreign country because the facility to analyze bulletproof glass windows was not available in the country.

To a question regarding trouble in tribal areas, he said that government was ready to hold talks with those elements who were willing to negotiate after laying down their arms. The prime minister however, stressed that they must be sincere in it.
