Quake hits upper parts of Pakistan PESHAWAR: An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted Peshawar tribal areas and many district of the NWFP on Friday morning.

Tremors were also felt in Islamabad, Muzzafarabad, Abbotabad, Chitral, Lahore, Malakand and Mingora.

The meteorology department believes the epicenter to be lying at 218 km in Hindukush region of Afghanistan. No casualty was reported so far.
