BARA: The ongoing military operation against militants continued on fourth consecutive day in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency on Friday, Geo news said while at least five militants were killed including a Taliban commander.
As many as 24 suspected militants were arrested during the operation, sources confirmed.
According to media cell of Frontier Corps NWFP, the military operation by the name ‘Dargham’ is underway in Bara tehsil while Bara bazaar remained closed and curfew was clamped Khyber Agency on Friday.
The house of a chief militants’ commander Gul Mast, hailing from banned Lashkar-e-Islam outfit and was apprehended two days ago, was pounded amid operation on Friday, sources added.
FC media cell of NWFP confirmed killing of a chief Taliban commander of Lashkar-e-Islam amid five other miscreants meanwhile, as many as 24 more miscreants were arrested and 14 militants’ houses were shelled with explosives during military offensive.
Another Taliban commander called Naseeb helped recover heavy amount of explosives from a market, media cell concluded. |  |
