 Rs2b package to be announced for Malakand: PM

 PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said the package for Malakand Division worth Rs2 biliion would be soon announced, Geo News reported Tuesday.

Talking to media after NWFP cabinet meeting, he said the government is well aware of the problems of the people in Swat, adding ‘We want to give succour to the Swat people on war footing.’

The PM Gilani said the capability of the police and other law enforcement agencies would have to be boosted to cope with the menace of terrorism, adding the police would be doubled in the province.

The constitutional amendment committee is mulling over the name of ‘Pakhtoonkhawa’ for the NWFP, he said
