Costly power stumbling block for quality Pak products
Updated at: 1746 PST,  Tuesday, September 08, 2009
KARACHI: The traders do not want electricity on exorbitant prices from rental power plants so much so to render national products fail to compete in international market.

Talking to Geo News, President of Federal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sultan Chawla said when President Asif Ali Zardari came to the city, no load shedding was carried out for at least four days, which means that capability to produce enough power is available.

‘Our problem is circular debts, excruciating oil prices and irregularities, which force several power plants to produce electricity less than their capacity,’ he maintained.

He stressed on the government to give equal focus to both industry and agriculture for power supply.
