Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi released

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police on Wednesday released Ahle Sunnat Wal Jammat (ASWJ) leader Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi after the negotiations between the leaders and the local police administration, sources said.

Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi was arrested for violating section 144 of the constitution.

Ejaz-ul-Haq, Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman Khalil, Haji Ghulam Mustafa, Abdullah Gill and former MNA Mian Aslam negotiated on the behalf of ASWJ leader, while on the other hand Interior Minister Rehman Malik along with police officials of Islamabad participated in the talks.

Earlier Ludhianvi was shifted to I-9 police station of Islamabad by police while the supporters of the leader staged a sit-in outside the police station demanding for the release of ASWJ leader.
