ISLAMABAD: The commission tasked with probing the memo scandal has rejected Husain Haqqani’s plea to appear before them via a video link.

The memo commission met at the Islamabad High Court under the chairmanship of Justice Qazi Faez Esa.

During his arguments before the commission, the counsel for Haqqani, Zahaid Bukhari said the Supreme Court had not stopped his client from recording his statement via video link. Bukhari added that Haqqani faced threats from agencies which is why he could not travel to Pakistan.

The counsel for Mansoor Ijaz said that Haqqani faced no threats in Pakistan and a warrant for his arrest should be issued.

The commission has also summoned details of the secret fund used by Haqqani.
