Rain likely in upper Punjab, KP

ISLAMABAD: A western disturbance affecting upper parts of the country is likely to persist for next 2-3 days, causing isolated rain/dust-thunderstorm with heavy falls in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) analysis, scattered rain with heavy falls is expected in upper Punjab; Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faislabad and Sargodha divisions, upper KP; Peshawar, Malakand, Hazara and Kohat divisions during next 24 hours.

In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, mostly partly cloudy conditions with chances of rain/thunderstorm is expected at isolated places during next 24 hours.

However, mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of Sindh and Balochistan during next 24 hours.

The highest maximum temperature recorded during last 24 hours was Turbat 40xC. The maximum temperatures were Islamabad 27 C, Lahore 33 C, Quetta 24 C, Karachi 36 C, Peshawar 25 C, Muzaffarabad 23 C, Gilgit 23 C, Murree 15 C, Multan 35 C and Faisalabad 32xC.

The rainfall recorded during the last 24 hours was Kakul 43 mm, Balakot 25mm, Malamjabba 16 mm, Garidupatta 15 mm, Lower Dir and Dir 14 mm, Saidusharif 13 mm, Barkhan 11 mm, Muzaffarabad 10 mm, Multan 9 mm, Kalam 8 mm and Pattan 5 mm.
