LAHORE: With the rise in mercury level, once again power shortfall has reached 4200MW leading to a massive increase in loadshedding, Geo News reported.
According to Water and Power Ministry officials, electricity generation was affected as power distribution companies were not receiving required quantity of furnace oil and funds.
Owing to the increased power shortfall, loadshedding is being carried out for up to 11 hours in Lahore and other big cities while small cities and villages are bearing upto 18-hour power outages.
The total demand for power in the country is 14,000 mega watts.
