ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Tuesday said no province could launch a long-march against the federal government because it it would be tantamount to be treason.
He was speaking in a Pakistan Television (PTV) programme “Prime Minister Online”.
Replying to a question regarding the long-march announced by the Punjab government, the Prime Minister said such act could be considered as “treason” as it would be a step of the provincial government against the federal government. “It is totally unacceptable,” he added.
Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Nawaz Sharif had said that Gilani was no longer the prime minister of Pakistan anymore since his conviction and vowed that every option including a long-march would be launched to honor the verdicts of the SC.
