KARACHI: The operation in Lyari has entered its sixth day as clashes between security forces and criminals continue.
The troubled locality resembles a battlefield as Wednesday saw no break in violence. At least seven people including three children and woman were killed while the house of provincial minister Rafique Engineer was burnt.
Earlier additional police forces were sent to Cheel Chowk, Lee Market and Kharadar after hand grenades were used by criminals.
Frontier Corps (FC) is also participating in the operation along with the police.
During the operation, residents were forced to migrate from the affected area while business activities were adversely affected.
