ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Thursday adopted two resolutions amid opposition uproar, Geo News reported.

One resolution sought formation of South Punjab a new province, and the other one reposed confidence in Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.

Federal Law Minister Farooq Naek tabled the resolutions.

The National Assembly resumed its session here Thursday with deputy speaker Faisal Karim Kundi in the chair amidst pandemonium by the PML (N) members.

At the outset, the members belonging to PML (N) raised slogans against Prime Minister Gilani. They were wearing black strips on their arms to record their protest.

The Deputy Speaker NA asked the opposition members not to undermine the supremacy of the Parliament and observe the parliamentary norms.

Despite the Chair's request the PML (N) members went ahead with sloganeering and thumping of desks to disrupt the House proceedings.

The House will now meet tomorrow morning at 10:00.
