KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said Sunday that targeted action would be taken in Lyari.

The Interior Minister was speaking to reporters after meeting with provincial minister Rafique Engineer.

The Interior Minister also warned PML-N President Nawaz Sharif that if he included Uzair Baloch in his party then that would be against the law.

Commenting on the Aman Committee, Malik said that action against them would be taken under the anti-terrorism act and there would be no negotiations. “There can be no dialogue with criminals,” Malik added.

Earlier, the Interior Minister and Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah jointly presided over a meeting, reviewing the law and order situation in Karachi.

In the meeting, a consensus was achieved on taking strong action against criminal elements.

Sources said that Sindh I.G police, Mushtaque Shah, Home Secretary, Khawaja Siddique Akbar, Additional Chief Secretary home, Sohail Akbar and Sindh Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary, Agha Jan Akhtar also attended the meeting.
