HYDERABAD: As many as 81,601 candidates are appearing in higher secondary part I and II (first-year and intermediate) exams today, Geo News reported Monday.

The Chairman of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Abdul Aleem Khanzada informed at a press conference here on Sunday that 124 examination centers have been set up in the 9 districts which are under jurisdiction of the board.

"We have declared 20 centers as sensitive where police will be deployed and the rangers patrol these centers," he added.

The district administrations of the respective districts have enforced section 144 against opening of the bookshops and Photostat shops during the time of examination and against the presence of unconcerned people at or around the centers.

There is also a ban on taking mobile phones to the centers.

Twenty vigilance teams and a special monitoring committee of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah would carry out spot checks at the centers.
