HOUSTON: A high-level 16-members trade delegation of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) will be visiting USA in the month of May 2012, under the leadership of President KCCI Mian Abrar Ahmad and former President Majyd Aziz. They will be in Houston between Sunday, May 13th and Wednesday, May 16th; and then leave for Austin on Thursday, May 17th. The Houston-Karachi Sister City Association (HKSCA) is hosting their visit.

During this trip Welcome/Networking Dinner in the Honor of the Delegation will jointly hosted by Honorable Consul General of Pakistan in Houston Muhammad Aqil Nadeem and Houston Karachi Sister City Association. In order to promote bi-lateral trade between Houston & Karachi, HKSCA has arranged most crucial meetings of the delegation with the Port of Houston, Mayor of Houston's International Trade & Development Council, Sam's Club / Wal*Mart, and local Pakistani-American Entrepreneur meeting's.

Most significantly, a vital Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed during this visit between the most valued Greater Houston Partnership (GHP), KCCI, and HKSCA, where respective Presidents Jeff Moseley, Mian Abrar Ahmad, and Muhammad Sheikh will sign the official document on Wednesday, May 16th at GHP Secretariat around 2:30pm. Idea of the MoU is to notify and assist each party in trade exhibitions, fairs, and similar events, to promote the products of all parties in both Houston and Karachi; promote trade and industrial joint-ventures between businesses of both the cities; organize meetings & seminars in both the cities to inform business people about potential investments & advantageous trade opportunities; and arrange meaningful visits of investment experts for the purpose of conducting surveys on each party's existing investment opportunities.

It is pertinent to mention here that Houston and Karachi are one of the most populace metropolises of the worlds; creating tremendous opportunities of trade, cultural, and educational exchanges between the people of these two cities.

In 2009 at the Houston City Hall, Syed Mustafa Kamal, Mayor of Karachi, signed the Houston-Karachi Sister City Association (HKSCA) Memorandum along with the Mayor Bill White of Houston.

HKSCA is an inclusive organization, whose mission is to promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, cooperation, and cultural & educational exchanges; by promoting interaction between the people of Houston and Karachi. The association also helps build bridges of friendship and commerce between these two vital centers of culture and the economy. Most gladly I want to inform all Houstonians that as part of fulfilling this mission, HKSCA is hosting a high level 16-members trade delegation of KCCI, and this visit will leave everlasting positive impressions of the economic well-being of these two cities, Houston & Karachi.
