ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday directed Minister for Water and Power to take effective measures for elimination of unscheduled loadshedding and suggested that a central control room be also set up in the Ministry of Water & Power for this purpose, if necessary.

The President gave the directions while chairing an emergency meeting on current power shortage and energy crisis in the country at Aiwan-e-Sadr, where Minister for Water and Power Naveed Qamar and Minister for Petroleum Dr Asim Hussain were also present.

At the start of the meeting the President expressed displeasure over the increasing incidents of unscheduled loadshedding in different parts of the country resulting in great inconvenience for the people.
