ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said Thursday that according to the constitution, political parties especially the PML-N were not responsible for ensuring that the orders of the Supreme Court were implemented.

When asked by a reporter if he would be resigning, the prime minister replied “who should I give my resignation to?”

Gilani further said that the opposition did not accept him as the prime minister but were willing to sit in committees formed by him.

Prime Minister Gilani said that unannounced loadshedding will be controlled adding that there was no restriction on provinces to generate their own electricity.

When asked about talks with the US, the prime minister said they were ongoing. He also said that President Asif Ali Zardari would be attending the upcoming NATO summit in Chicago.
