ISLAMABAD: The PML-N has decided not to attend the reception being hosted by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in honour of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayipp Erdogan.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif will be present at the joint parliamentary session but will not attend the reception. According to PML-N sources Prime Minister Gilani’s invitation to PML-N President Nawaz Sharif was discussed by the central leadership and the majority suggested that because the PML-N does not accept Yousuf Raza Gillani as the constitutional prime minister, Nawaz Sharif should decline the invitation.

Sources add that some of the leaders suggested that the reception should be attended as it was given in the Turkish Prime Minister’s honour.

Nawaz Sharif will meet the Turkish Prime Minister on Tuesday afternoon at a local hotel in Islamabad.

Prime Minister Gilani had invited heads of both coalition and opposition parties to the dinner.
