KARACHI: The dollar in inter-bank on Wednesday reached a new high of Rs91.88, while in the open market it was being sold at Rs93, Geo News reported.
According to dealers the impact of the rising value of the dollar in the inter-bank was also seen in the open market, as at the very outset of trading it went up by 20 paisas' besides the dollar in inter-bank was seen selling at Rs91.80.
Analysts attributed the high demand of dollar and instability of the rupee to the deteriorating law and order situation in the country, increasing pressure of foreign payments, especially those of IMF loans.
