Two hurt in Faisalabad loadshedding protest

FAISALABAD: Two people were hurt when factory workers in Faisalabad protested against prolonged and unannounced power outages today, Geo News reported.

According to sources, angry protestors tried to shut a shop in Ghulam Mohammad Abad area where the guard opened fire at the rally that injured two protestors who were later shifted to the hospital.

Provoked over the incident, the demonstrators looted the shop and damaged the furniture.

The agitated workers also forcefully closed petrol pumps and other shops of the area while they tore roadside banners and posters.

Due to the violent protest by the factory workers, police directed the shop owners and banks to shut their businesses at Ghanta Ghar.
