Power riots continue in Karachi

KARACHI: Protests against prolonged and unscheduled loadshedding continued in the metropolis as two trucks of KESC were set ablaze by violent protesters, Geo News reported.

According to details, residents of al-Karam Square continued their protest against loadshedding. In FC Area, protesters ransacked KESC office and torched its two trucks.

Police and Rangers used tear gas to disperse the protesters while the mob also pelted the LEAs with stones.

Meanwhile, KESC has stated that residents of al-Karam Square are not paying bills and are defaulters of Rs.400 million. Electricity in the area would not be restored till the payment of bills.
