PPP accepts Gilani's disqualification verdict

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has accepted the decision of the Supreme Court disqualifying Yusuf Raza Gilani as the prime minister.

The decision was taken during the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting held at the presidency.

Sources add that the PPP will put forward the names of candidates for the post of prime minister during a meeting of the coalition partners scheduled for Tuesday night. The names of Makhdoom Shahbuddin, Khursheed Shah and Ahmed Mukhtar are under consideration.

The PPP Parliamentary Party meeting has also been summoned on Wednesday to review the Supreme Court's verdict .
